GABRIEL DVOSKIN

Gabriel established the Canopus vineyard in El Cepillo in 2009 while seeking out a dynamic viticulture and wines that represented that cold, extreme southern corner of Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Despite not having a professional background in the wine industry, he brought attitude, consistency, and patience to his work on 10 complicated yet surprising hectares. Gabriel’s first contact with the world of wine was as a journalist working in Europe: he participated in the harvest and carried out other tasks as an apprentice throughout several regions in both France and Italy in the ‘90s and 2000s. After more than 15 years as a journalist in France and Asia, he returned to Argentina to focus on Canopus and his quest to leverage the vineyard’s precision, energy, and character. Since 2014, and with valiant efforts against the late frost, Gabriel and his small team produce Y La Nave Va Malbec and Pintom Pinot Noir.
