Sommelier and journalist specializing in food and beverage, Marcela has spearheaded the food and wine websites of Galería, a weekly lifestyle magazine published in Montevideo, Uruguay since 2007. She’s the author of www.peregrinagourmet.comand the book ROU: 13 cocineros y 13 productos del Uruguay. She also contributes to Sevi (Spain), Travesías (Mexico), and Sommelier (Peru). Marcela is the founder and creator behind Viajar para Comer, group travel experiences designed to discover cities through their food cultures; she is also the creator of Coma, Cocina con Historia, a joint cooking class series and editorial project inspired by Uruguay’s immigrant communities which are led by important figures from different cultural groups.
